A Bengaluru trial court has reportedly ordered Kannada film actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, along with his girlfriend Pavithra Gowda and eleven others, to be remanded to six days of police custody following their alleged involvement in the Renuka Swamy murder case.

The body of 33-year-old Renuka Swamy was discovered on June 9, triggering a flurry of investigations into the circumstances surrounding his demise. It's believed that Swamy succumbed to injuries inflicted during an attack orchestrated on the instructions of Darshan Thoogudeepa, purportedly in retaliation for derogatory remarks made against Pavithra Gowda on social media.

Pavithra Gowda has been identified as the prime suspect, with Thoogudeepa following closely behind in the hierarchy of accused individuals.

The list of accused also includes K Pawan, Nandish, Karthik, Keshavamurthy, Nikhil Naik, M Lakshmana, Raghavendra alias Raghu (president of the Chitradurga unit of Darshan Fan Association), R Nagaraju, and M Deepak Kumar.

According to reports, Swamy was allegedly transported to Bengaluru on June 8 following a series of lewd messages sent to Pavithra Gowda. He was purportedly assaulted and subsequently met his untimely demise in a desolate area of Pattagere. His body was then disposed of in the Raj Canal near Kamakshi Palya during the late hours of the night.

Local residents alerted authorities upon discovering the corpse, prompting action from law enforcement. Thoogudeepa was apprehended the following morning from a private hotel in Mysore, while Gowda was taken into custody by noon. The remaining suspects were also detained by evening.

The accused individuals face charges under Sections 302 (murder), 120B (conspiracy), and Section 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code, 1860, according to Bar and Bench.
