Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin-led Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam swept Lok Sabha election by winning 39 out of 39 seats in the state and the lone seat in Puducherry. The thumping victory comes as a blow to the BJP and its state chief K Annamalai who led a fierce campaign in the state. Conceding defeat, Annamalai who secured over 4 lakh votes in Coimbatore, wrote in a post on X, “I bow down to the people of the Coimbatore Parliamentary constituency & thank the 4.5 Lakh voters who bestowed their faith in NDA & @BJP4TamilNadu. You believed in the vision of our Hon PM Shri @narendramodiavl for his Viksit Bharat. You have given us historic votes in the history of Coimbatore PC for NDA, and still, we were short of the winning mark.
