Sony India has unveiled its latest audio technology with the debut of ULT Power Sound series, and the company .
“With the launch of ULT, we are expecting 30% growth in the audio business,” said Sunil Nayyar, Managing Director of Sony India in an interview with Storyboard18's Shibani Gharat.
ULT stands for ultimate and feature collection of wireless speakers and noise cancelling headphones designed to immerse users in pulsating beats of their favourite music.
This is the first sub-brand created under the music category for Sony and it aims at targeting the youth. Sony India has also appointed renowned music icon King as a brand ambassador for this ULT brand.

The collaboration aims to connect with the youth and bring music closer to the consumers’ hearts.
While sharing the reason behind the launch, Nayyar said, “Each category of Sony has a sub brand. We did not have a sub brand for audio. That is the reason.”
“We wanted the customers to relate to the power of Sony, which we wanted to bring through this brand – ULT,” he added.

17th Edition of Goafest 2024

17th edition of Goafest, which started this week and the big theme for Goafest2024 was ‘adaptability’. Shrugging off all the uncertainty whether Goafest would happen at all given the long drawn out elections, the annual ad and media festival adapted well moving to a new address The Westin in Powai, Mumbai. It was put together in less than 60 days by the organisers, Advertising Agencies Association of India (AAAI) and the Advertising Club.
Shibani Gharat caught up with the few industry leaders on the sidelines of this event and spoke to them about how business has performed amidst this uncertainty and cautious approach by brands and businesses, their expectation from the rest of the year and is the agency business facing the revenue pressures.
