Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL) announced on Tuesday (June 12) that it has bolstered passenger processing capacity to approximately 8,000 travellers per hour, while reducing curbside wait time to less than a minute by expanding both DigiYatra and non-DigiYatra services at both its terminals.
Additionally, the airport revealed plans to deploy advanced Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning-equipped cameras to augment overall security infrastructure at the curbside.
The move includes increasing the number of entry lanes, from 24 to 68, making it the largest number of e-gates available curbside at airports across the country. This expansion incorporates 34 entry lanes exclusively designated for DigiYatra passengers, without any structural alterations by the adopting digital gateway solutions.
