In an interview with
Storyboard18’s Tasmayee Laha Roy, Jill Kouri, Global Chief Marketing Officer at HCLTech, discussed how today's marketers are innovative and bold in sharing their views and ideas.
While AI is an intrinsic part of marketing, Kouri stressed that a strong foundation in communication is essential; AI can aid but not replace a skilled marketer.
"Gen AI is a hot topic. Our head of digital marketing, under my direction, started a pilot program about a year ago with 30 marketing employees. They tested and learned from new technologies. We were one of the first in our field to use an enterprise version of a Gen AI tool. This tool helps us write better copy and shorten long texts, making us more efficient. However, human intervention is still needed.
"We are also using a tool for graphic design that helps us edit images better. This tool will likely be used more by our design team in the coming year. Additionally, we have integrated AI into our marketing automation platform. These steps help us serve our clients and prospects better while making our operations more efficient."
