"While the numerical mandate may be with the BJP at the moment, the moral mandate is with us, and the moral mandate is magical," says Deepender Singh Hooda, the newly elected Congress Member of Parliament from Rohtak.
In an interview with CNBC-TV18, Hooda expressed his gratitude, and thanked the people of India and Haryana for turning out in large numbers to vote in their party's favour.
Hooda highlighted that the people in Haryana have signaled their desire for change at both the central and state levels by electing Congress in five seats.
He noted that the Congress' vote share in Haryana was 48%, which was 1.5% more than the
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) share.
Hooda acknowledged that the future political landscape would unfold in due course, and the numbers were clear for everyone to see.

This victory represents the best performance across the country for the INDIA alliance, Hooda said, referring to the broader coalition of opposition parties.
Congress led in 46 out of 90 assembly segments compared to the BJP's 43 segments, he noted.
Hooda made a comeback in the
Rohtak constituency, defeating BJP's Arvind Sharma by a margin of 3,45,298 votes. He amassed 7,83,578 votes, while Sharma, who defeated him in the 2019 elections, garnered 4,38,280 votes.
