In the third phase of Lok Sabha elections which commenced at 7 am on Tuesday, May 7, simultaneously across 93 constituencies recorded an approximate voter turnout of 64.58% across 11 states and Union Territories. (Image: ECI)

Gujarat registered a voter turnout of 59.51% across 24 constituencies where election were held in the third phase of elections. Of these Valsad recorded the highest voter turnout with 72.24% while Amreli saw the least turnout with 49.44%.

The polling was held smoothly and peacefully in all States/UTs across the three phases which covered the entire North eastern part of the country, LWE affected and vulnerable areas in Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. (Image: ECI)

Among the prominent leaders who contested in the third phase of polling are Supriya Sule (Baramati), Dimple Yadav (Mainpuri), Amit Shah (Gandhinagar), Jyotiraditya Scindia (Guna), Mansukh Mandaviya (Porbandar), Parshottam Rupala (Rajkot), Pralhad Joshi (Dharwad) and SP Singh Baghel (Agra).
