A highlight of these results has come in women winning with big margins - from Kanimozhi who won the Toothukudi seat in Tamil Nadu with a margin of over 3 lakh votes to Dimple Yadav who won from Mainpuri seat of Uttar Pradesh with a margin of over 2 lakh votes. Her father has served in Nitish Kumar's cabinet after he moved to JD(U) from Congress and grandfather Mahavir Choudhry was also a state minister when the Congress ruled in Bihar. Priya Saroj | 25-year old Priya Saroj is a lawyer who had been practicing in the Supreme Court after completing her LLB from Amity University, Noida in 2022. She has won from the Machhlishahr constituency of Uttar Pradesh while representing the Akhilesh Kumar Yadav-led Samajwadi Party. She won against BJP's Bholanath Saroj with a margin of 35 thousand votes. She is the daughter of three-time MP Toofani Saroj. Her father contested and won from the same seat in 2009 and lost the same seat in 2014. She has assets worth ₹11 lakh. Sanjana Jatav | Wife of a constable and a mother of two, Sanjana Jatav ran and won a seat in the Parliament from Bharatpur constituency of Rajashthan, representing the Indian National Congress. This was, however, her second attempt at entering politics. The first was when she fought the assembly elections and lost in November 2023 from Alwar’s Kathumar seat by a lean margin of 409 votes to BJP’s Ramesh Khinchi. This time, she defeated former Lok Sabha MP and BJP candidate Ramswaroop Koli by 51,983 votes. She is always seen in a saree with her head covered and has a net worth of about ₹12 lakh. Pushpendra Saroj | Avenging his father, Indrajeet Saroj's defeat in 2019, 25-year old Pushpendra took down the incumbent Vinod Kumar Sonkar by a margin of over 1 lakh votes. Despite being the son of a five-time MLA, Pushpendra took his time to enter the world of politics. He completed his undergraduate studies in accounting and management from Queen Mary University in London in 2019, and spent three years abroad before returning to India.
