
Bihar is one of the states where the electoral contest is expected to be among the most exciting. However, the News18 exit poll shows that the loss of seats for the BJP may not be very significant. The National Democratic Alliance led by the incumbent Prime Minister Narendra Modi may get 31-34 seats and the opposition bloc, I.N.D.I.A, which includes regional parties like the Rashtriya Janata Dal led by Tejaswi Yadav, may get 2-5 seats. The opposition parties would have liked to take a bigger chunk of the seats to make a significant dent on the rival's tally at the national level.

The 2024 Lok Sabha election result may the mirror image of the 2019 tally, according to the News 18 exit poll. The National Democratic Alliance led by incumbent Prime Minister Narendra Modi may get 21-24 seats, compared to the 18 in 2019. Jharkhand has been a hotbed political controversy since the arrest of Hemant Soren, who resigned as the state Chief Minister hours before his arrest on Jan 31, 2024. This was expected to create a wave against BJP but those expectations may come undone as the latest exit poll projects 9-12 seats for the BJP, and 2-5 for the opposition bloc, I.N.D.I.A. The state, with a large tribal population, has a total of 14 seats in the Lok Sabha. This is similar to the final tally in the 2019 Parliamentary election.

BJP and its allies may 32-35 seats in Maharashtra, a state where the election was tough to predict given changing political equations with the break up of two large political parties. If these projections were to come true, it would be a big jump in the tally for Modi's party and its allies when compared to the 2019 tally of 23. The I.N.D.I alliance may bag 15-18 out of the 48 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra, according to the News18 exit poll.

Voters in Haryana have kept the two competing alliances on tenterhooks. The BJP-led NDA may get 5-7 out of the ten Lok Sabha seats in Haryana. The opposition Congress may win 3-5 seats, according to the News18 exit poll. This is a significant swing away from BJP, which won 7 seats in the state in 2019.

A huge swing is likely in Odisha, in favour of the National Democratic Alliance led by incumbent Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The News18 exit poll projects 13-15 seats for the NDA, well ahead of the 8 that the coalition scored in 2019. The Biju Janata Dal (BJD), led by the six-time Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, may get 6-8 seats.

The BJP-led NDA is projected to win between 68 and 71 seats, while the INDIA bloc may be limited to just 9–12 seats, according to the News18 exit poll. If the projection comes true, the NDA's tally would be more than what it was in 2019 by at least four seats. UP sends the maximum number of legislators to the India Parliament.

The challengers, I.N.D.I. alliance, may bag 8-10 seats in Punjab, according to the News18 exit poll. Chandrababu Naidu's return to the NDA-fold may lead to big gains likely for the BJP-led alliance in Andhra Pradesh, according to the News18 Poll Hub. The survey results project 19-22 seats for the NDA, led by BJP, a big swing away from the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) led by Jagan Reddy. Bulk of the 19-22 seats in Andhra may go to the Naidu's Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and its ally BJP may get 4-6 seats, of the total 25.

BJP continues to be a dominant force in Rajasthan but it may ceded some ground to the opposition I.N.D.I alliance. News18 exit poll suggests 18-23 seats for the Narendra Modi-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the western state. In the previous election in 2019, BJP and its allies had won all 25 seats in Rajasthan. This time, the opposition led by Congress is expected to bag 2-7 seats.

The people of Karnataka voted overwhelmingly for the Congress in recent state elections. However, they may have chosen to back the BJP-led NDA coalition in the Parliamentary election. The News18 exit poll shows that the NDA may get 19-22 out of the 25 Lok Sabha seats in Karnataka. In 2019, BJP and its allies had bagged nearly all the Parliamentary seats in the state, which is home to Bengaluru, a city that's famous as India's silicon valley for the concentration of technology companies and startups.

The I.N.D.I.A coalition, which includes the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and the Indian National Congress (INC), may sweep anywhere between 36 to 39 seats. The exit poll predicts a 15% vote share for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which may yield zero to three seats in the Lok Sabha. The survey also predicts zero to two seats for the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), which used to be an ally for BJP before pulling out of the NDA ahead of the 2024 election.

It's likely that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) may open its account in Kerala, for the first time ever. The News18 Poll Hub survey projects 15-18 seats for the I.N.D.I.A coalition led by the Congress. The Left Parties and its allies, which fought the election outside of the I.N.D.IA coalition in Kerala, while being part of the bloc in rest of the country, is likely to 2-5 seats in Kerala.

It's a much tighter fight in Telangana between the incumbent NDA, led by Prime Minister Modi, and the opposition bloc, I.N.D.I.A, led by Rahul Gandhi of the Congress. The News18 exit poll shows that the NDA may get 7-10 seats in Telangana while the I.N.D.I.A may get 5-8 seats. A closer result on June 4 may bring other parties like the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (led by K Chandrashekhara Rao) and AIMIM led by Asaduddin Owaisi into play. Even those these smaller parties may have fewer numbers, they could play kingmakers if the opportunity presents itself.

Gujarat remains a BJP bastion. According to the News18 exit poll, the party is likely to sweep all Lok Sabha seats in the state, that's home to both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. This is the second time in a row that BJP would have won every one of the 26 Parliamentary constituencies in the state.

The exit poll results are in line with what the News18 Opinion Poll conducted in March this year predicted that the BJP will bag 10 seats in the state, leaving INDIA bloc with the remaining one. . The party won nine seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha results while Congress bagged two.

Despite changing six out of the seven sitting members of the Parliament, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) may remain the dominant force in Delhi, which is part of the national capital region. The National Democratic Alliance (NDA), led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is expected to win 5-7 seats while the opposition bloc, I.N.D.I.A, may get 3-5 seats. The arrest of the opposition leader and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), was expected to yield some sympathy votes but as per the News18 survey, it may not have resulted in more seats for AAP or its allies.

There are a total 9 Lok Sabha seats in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand and BJP is expected to win all nine. The six seats in the union territories of Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh, are likely to be equally divided between NDA led by the BJP and the I.N.D.I. alliance led by the Congress.

The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) may win 10-13 seats in Assam. The INDIA bloc which contested all 14 seats, is projected to win 2-5 seats in the state. There's a near unanimity among exit polls that BJP will remain a dominant force in the biggest state in the Northeastern part of India.

In the seven Union Territories (excluding Delhi) and the six states of Northeast (except Assam), there are about 15 seats. The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) may get 13 out of these 15, according to the News18 survey.
