
Apple Vision Pro is going to be available in the United States market from Friday, February 2. For the tech giant, the device marks the first major release in a new segment since the Apple Watch was introduced nine years ago. The all-new headset from Apple is going to be a major milestone for the ones who love virtual and augmented reality.
Apple has positioned Vision Pro as a ‘spatial computing’ product in the market instead of calling it a virtual reality device. The Vision Pro is going to be available at $3,499 for the base model, which comes with 256GB of internal storage.
Meanwhile, Apple CEO Tim Cook has taken the promotion of the device to another level. Leaving no stone unturned in promoting the latest device of the company, Cook has appeared on the cover of Vanity Fair magazine, wherein he is seen wearing the Apple Vision Pro headset.
In the exclusive Vanity Fair interview, Cook mentioned that he liked one of the early versions of the device. Cook shared his experience of first time wearing a version of the Vision Pro a couple of years back, which was bulky. He termed the version as “a monster” of “an apparatus”.

After seeing the massive-sized early piece of the device, Cook mentions that he did not know how his engineers were going to merge all the aspects including the supercomputers, wires, and fans to the size of goggles. He said, “I’ve known for years we would get here.”
Cook added, “I didn’t know when, but I knew that we would arrive here,” the Vanity Fair article quoted.
A day before the launch, Tim Cook shared an announcement post on the microblogging platform X. He wrote, “Tomorrow morning, Apple Vision Pro is here!”
According to Apple, the device now weighs around 21.2 to 22.9 ounces, including a few factors such as using a solo or dual loop headband to head the gear. Vision Pro operates on a dual-chip configuration, combining Apple's M2 chip with the new R1 chip. It has been specifically designed to handle data from the device's numerous sensors, cameras, and microphones.
