Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao’s
Mr and Mrs Mahi is making all the right noises at the box office. On day 4, which was also the first Monday, the romantic sports drama collected
₹ 2.15 crore at the
box office, reported Sacnilk. With this, the total collection of the film stands at
₹ 19 crore. The report added that the film “had an overall 11.11% Hindi Occupancy on Monday.”
Mr and Mrs Mahi is directed by Sharan Sharma. The film was jointly bankrolled by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Zee Studio.
Speaking about Zoom, Sharan Sharma gave a shout-out to J
anhvi Kapoor for her commitment and dedication. Sharan said, “With Janhvi, on my first film, I realised that this girl can work damn hard. We connected as people who have this madness to tell a story and bonded over our work ethics and wanting to work hard. I knew that this journey of
Mr and Mrs Mahi and the role of Mahima would need an actor with a lot of emotional vulnerability, naiveness and innocence which I feel Janhvi has. She has this in her core and I needed somebody who can give life to become the kind of cricketer I wanted her to become. And I have no doubt about her ability to work hard. If there's anyone who will put in the work, she will.”
Talking about the challenges he and the team of
Mr and Mrs Mahi faced during the shoot, Sharan added, “Even for her and me, it was a massive challenge because I don't think she understood the amount of work it would take to do this part. She knew nothing about this sport. She knew very little about it. No, not very little, she knew nothing about it."
