And it’s official! Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor has come on board to host the third season of Bigg Boss OTT. Kapoor has replaced Salman Khan to take over the hosting responsibilities of the most awaited show.
The OTT platform JioCinema confirmed the news with an announcement post on its social media handle. Bigg Boss OTT 3 will premiere on JioCinema on June 21.
Welcoming the Animal actor on board, Jio Cinema, in a post on microblogging site X (formerly Twitter), wrote, “Presenting ‘
Anil Kapoor’ as the new host for Bigg Boss OTT 3!!! From reigning on the big screen to now ruling the Bigg Boss house, @AnilKapoor is kuch extra khaas! Witness his magic in #BiggBossOTT3 starting 21 June, exclusively on JioCinema Premium.”
Expressing his excitement to host the reality programme,
Anil Kapoor, in a statement, said, “Bigg Boss OTT and I are a dream team! We’re both young at heart; people often say – jokingly – that I’m reverse ageing, but Bigg Boss is – seriously- timeless. It feels a bit like going back to school, trying something new and exciting.”
The Fighter actor added, “Having said that, I’ve always approached all my projects with sincerity and a commitment to hard work and I’m going to bring that same energy times 10 to Bigg Boss! Unscripted reality has something for everyone – laughter, drama, and surprising twists, and I can’t wait to bring my flavour to it.”
Last month, JioCinema teased fans with a promo of the show hinting at its association with Kapoor, creating a stir on the Internet. Notably,
Anil Kapoor will be the third host for Bigg Boss OTT.
While Karan Johar hosted the first season of the controversial show, Salman Khan was brought on board to host the second season.
Meanwhile,
Kapoor’s association with the reality show comes at a time when Salman Khan has been in the news for a firing incident outside his Mumbai apartment. On April 14, a few unknown men fired gunshots outside Khan’s Galaxy Apartments in Mumbai’s Bandra area.
