Tesla CEO Elon Musk was reportedly in a sexual relationship with a SpaceX employee and a former intern, who he later hired onto his executive team, a report in a leading US daily has claimed. He also asked a third woman in his company to have his children, the report added.
Musk has created a culture in his companies that made women employees uncomfortable, The Wall Street Journal reported.
This comes weeks after The New York Times reported
Musk had an affair with Google co-founder Sergey Brin’s former wife and Robert F Kennedy Jr’s vice presidential pick, Nicole Shanahan, in 2021. The report said that the affair led to Shanahan's separation and subsequent divorce from Brin.
The billionaire's alleged use of illegal drugs is said to have raised concerns among some executives and board members of SpaceX and Tesla.
Citing female employees at the company, the WSJ report claims that women were shown “an unusual amount of attention or pursued” by Musk.
A SpaceX flight attendant has alleged that back in 2016
Musk exposed himself to her and even offered to buy a horse in exchange for sex.
Another woman, who left SpaceX in 2013, claimed in her exit negotiations that Musk had asked her to have his children.
The report claims that a woman at the company had a sexual relationship with Musk in 2014 and used to directly report to him.
The month-long relationship ended on bad terms as she was forced to leave the company, besides signing an agreement that prohibits her from discussing her work for
Musk in public.
Citing text exchanges, the report further claims that a woman employee at SpaceX received repeated invitations from Musk to visit him at his home at night.
“Come by!” Musk wrote to the woman, but she did not respond to him.
As per the report, he then sent her the following texts:
“Look, it’s either me or 6 am [exercise] :)”
“Just finished the Model 3 production call. It’s def going to be hell for several more months.”
“Are you coming over? If not, I will probably tranq out. Too stressed to sleep naturally.”
“Probably best if we don’t see each other.”
Later on, the woman replied in the morning saying, “Oh man. I’m sorry, I’d already fallen asleep. I’ve been a late-night person most of my life but have been trying to switch over because it seems responsible. Tbh. Sorry, I crashed last night."
Meanwhile, SpaceX’s president and chief operating officer Gwynne Shotwell has called Musk "one of the best humans I know".
“The untruths, mischaracterizations, and revisionist history in your email paint a completely misleading narrative. I continue to be amazed by what this extraordinary group of people are achieving every day even amidst all the forces acting against us. And Elon is one of the best humans I know," she told the news outlet.
Earlier this year, Musk opened up about his use of psychedelic drugs like ketamine, stating that this helped him lead the company.
In recent times, the billionaire has been criticised over his alleged drug use and its potential impact on the several companies owned by him.
