Terrorists attacked a joint Army and police checkpost in Doda, Jammu and Kashmir, late Tuesday night, marking the third such incident in the past 72 hours. According to official sources, multiple rounds were fired at the temporary operating base (TOB) in the remote Chattargala area, prompting several security teams to rush to the scene.

The attack led to a gunfight between the terrorists and security forces in the higher reaches of Doda district, resulting in injuries to at least six personnel.

A local terror group, Kashmir Tigers, supported by the Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed, claimed responsibility for the attack, alleging that several Indian security personnel were killed.

This attack occurred while security forces were conducting search operations to arrest terrorists in the Doda region. It was the third such attack in three days, following incidents in Kathua and Reasi.

The Doda incident happened hours after a terrorist was killed in an encounter with security forces after firing at a home in Kathua district. Earlier, on June 9, terrorists attacked a bus carrying pilgrims in Reasi district, killing 10 people and injuring 33 others.

News18 cited sources saying that the terrorists were from the same group that targeted an Indian Air Force convoy in Poonch on May 4. Police have started circulating sketches of the wanted terrorists and announced bounties on their heads.

Commenting on the three consecutive incidents, Jammu and Kashmir Additional Director General of Police Anand Jain said, “It is our hostile neighbor who always tries to disrupt the peaceful environment in our country. This (Hiranagar terror attack) appears to be a fresh infiltration. One terrorist has been killed, and the search for the others is underway.”
