All you need to know about USA T20 World Cup star Noshtush Kenjige: Is he associated with Mumbai Indians?
United States of America (USA) bowler Noshtush Kenjige has been the talk of the town in the ongoing ICC Men's T20 World Cup. USA have bagged two victories so far in the competition, beating Canada in their opening fixture and securing a super over win against Pakistan in their previous game. Kenjige was born in Auburn, Alabama, and bowls slow-left arm orthodox spin, which is quite handy for the USA given the pitches beind dished out in New York.

Kenjige debuted for the USA in 2019 in ODIs, before going on to earn his first cap for them in T20Is in 2023, in the build-up to the current competition.

He has had significantly greater experience playing ODIs than T20Is for the USA. The spinner has played 40 ODI matches, taking 38 wickets at an economy rate of 4.24 with the help of bowling average and strike rate of 34.92 and 49.3 respectively. His key objective in the 50-overs game is to prevent the leakage of runs in the middle overs.

In T20Is, Kenjige has taken seven scalps in as many games. His economy is 7.41 and a fairly decent bowling strike rate of 14.5. Kenjige has played 61 List A games, taking 60 wickets at an economy of 4.21, with the help of a solitary four-wicket haul.

Further, he has also been a part of the Mumbai Indians squad, both in the ILT20 and the Major League Cricket (MLC). His bowling acumen earned him call-ups from both the MI Emirates and MI New York, with the latter also having won the inaugural edition of the tournament last year.

Kenjige is a sort of bowler who is worth his weight in gold in modern-day cricket. With the advent of the two new balls, off-spinners are being taken to the cleaners in the limited-overs game. Hence, Kenjige, who can hold his fort against big-hitters in the middle-overs has caught the attention of the cricketing fraternity, and he might even end up secure the eyeballs of a certain IPL franchise as well.
